With over 9 years of experience, Cindy Navarro (she/her/ella) is a bilingual Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging strategist and facilitator who prioritizes humanity, authentic relationship-building, and accountability to cultivate inclusive environments. Cindy has dedicated her career to advocating for equitable approaches in both the public education and nonprofit sectors, focusing on historically disenfranchised communities. Her extensive skill set encompasses strategic planning, professional development design, monolingual and bilingual facilitation, coaching, community outreach, and policy / advocacy engagement, all aimed at achieving equitable outcomes for marginalized groups.
Committed to utilizing culturally competent practices, Cindy supports decision-making with innovative and equitable solutions. She actively advocates for anti-racist principles, infusing every aspect of her work with a commitment to dismantling systemic inequities and nurturing environments where all individuals can thrive. With a deep understanding of the complexities within Latinx communities, where systemic oppression intersects with historical narratives, shaping attitudes and behaviors, Cindy specializes in anti-racist practices within the immigrant and Latinx community, particularly focusing on disrupting anti-Blackness entrenched within Latinx culture.
Cindy holds an undergraduate degree in Justice Studies, with minors in Women's/Gender Studies and Spanish from Arizona State University and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Cindy deeply treasures her roots, embracing her identity as the daughter of two Mexican immigrants and cherishing her upbringing in the DMV. Today, she continues to call the DMV home, where she resides with her partner, their son, and two dogs.
