Our Engaging Equitably Framework

Welcome to the heart of our mission at Engaged Spaces, where we initiate vibrant dialogues, provide insightful consultancies, and facilitate transformative coaching to cultivate spaces that resonate with feelings of liberty and deep community impact. Our Engaging Equitably Framework isn't just a set of principles—it's a beacon that guides and inspires every interaction and strategy we apply.
At the core of everything we facilitate, anti-racism, equity, and emotional intelligence serve as critical touchstones, ensuring that each venture is imbued with the essence of deliberate and compassionate humanity: recognition of our individual and collective humanhood.

Our theory rests on a simple truth: individuals and collectives are continuously evolving along a spectrum encompassing anti-racism awareness, bias comprehension, and competency. Our movement along this continuum shapes how folx present themselves, make choices, and contribute to the transformation of spaces — from closed corridors of old power structures to open arenas where justice and humanity converge.

In order to authentically engage with equity as our compass, we lean into a deep-seated appreciation for the full tapestry of humanhood. In this reverence, Engaged Spaces disentangles from archaic narratives to dismantle the  war on humanity declared by white supremacy culture, utilizing our potent collective potential.
Our framework stands on three pillars: humanhood, forward progress, and fueling systemic change.

Humanhood is an invitation to
  • Acknowledging our shared humanity, finding unity in our similarities and strength in our diversities.
  • Mobilizing collective potency, channeling the unique energies inside our community to upheave white supremacy culture.
  • Advancing education and leadership, by fostering a lifetime commitment to personal growth and societal change.
  • Cultivating enduring systemic reform, planting seeds of equity that will grow into structures capable of sheltering justice and inclusiveness.

Forward Progress encompasses the courageous commitment to self-directed learning—not merely superficially, but as a profound and personal understanding of systemic injustice and the active pursuit of genuine freedom. It's about dethroning the oppressor's gaze and adopting a mindset of liberation.

Fueling Systemic Change requires that we first acknowledge and confront the roots of our existing systems. It's about thorough introspection, challenging the underpinnings of our professional practices, and reimagining them. Then, we design and proliferate systems infused with the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging (DEIJB), resilient against any systemic barriers to maintain equitable engagement.

The Engaging Equitably framework is our ethos translated into tangible practices that have repeatedly yielded spaces with outcomes as equitable as the intentions behind them.

The goal of the framework is this: to disrupt oppressive culture and engage freely in equitable practices that produce equitable outcomes toward the liberation of all humankind.

At Engaged Spaces, we don't just envision spaces where our educational and professional environments reflect the kaleidoscope of identities and experiences that fill them—we encourage concrete actions to build it. Join us as we strive to reconstruct a society where the norm is not mere inclusion but celebrated diversity and interaction unshackled from the relics of oppression. Connect with us, so that together, we can actualize equitable outcomes that not only nurture but revel in our shared humanhood.
